Vietnam Style
Dear Sir/Madam
Our charity, Diabetes UK has a group of 20 people treking to the base camp of Everest to raise much needed funds on 17 October.
We wanted to introduce an extra element of competition to try to persuade our fundraisers to raise that little extra. We are experiencing an ever increasing demand on our services due the increase in the number of people with diabetes (currently a massive 2.1 million in the UK). Our main tasks are the promotion of testing people early and persuading them to adopt a more healthy lifestyle.
I wondered if you could consider donating a copy of your book 'Vienam Style' by Bertrand de Hartingh – I thought we could offer this as a prize to the person who raises the most money – I am positive this would help to increase our income by thousands of pounds.
I do hope you could support us in some way and I hope to hear from you soon.

Permissions request Dear Madam/Sir
I would like to seek permission to use an excerpt from one of your books in a forthcoming textbook. I would be grateful if you could email me as soon as possible so we can discuss this.
Many thanks indeed,
Jane Mann

defective copy of THE ECOLOGY OF JAVA AND BALI I bought a softbound copy of your book, THE ECOLOGY OF JAVA AND BALI (Whitten et al)(first paperback edition, 2000) in Ubud while visiting Bali recently.
Unfortunately, there wasn't time to check the book over thoroughly before I got on the plane at Denpasar for Malaysia. It turns out that the following pages are blank: 106-107; 110-111; 114-115; 118-119; 122-123; 126-127; 130-131; and 134-135. Apparently, one side of the fourth 32-page signature in the volume was not printed during the printing run. Is there some way you can provide me with a copy of the missing pages? It's an excellent book, and I would like to have all of it! I can be reached at my e-mail below. Thanks for your attention.
